    To be fair, the Rays did a nice job of signing a bunch of overslot guys later in the draft.

    It does make sense, from a PR perspective, to get him on the mound even for an inning or two at some Single-A affiliate, but my guess is he doesn't pitch this year. Only a couple weeks left in the minor league system and they probably just want to get him into the Instructional League in September.

    Piniella just walked about 2/3rds of the way to the mound then turned around and went back to the dugout. I'm pretty sure that counted as a trip to the mound since he crossed the foul line.

    Single-A might be a tad too easy. Start him at Double-A Harrisburg.
