I think I am beginning to love Kevin Gregg almost as much as I now love Aaron Heilman.

    Suffer, Cubsfanboiloosers, suffer.

BTW, made my first visit to Citi Field tonight. Outstanding ballpark, currently housing a pathetic Double A team.

I woke up and it wasn't a dream.
They better trot his ass out tonight to us adoring masses.

For completely selfish reasons -- plus, it makes a little sense -- I hope they let him throw a few times with the P-Nats. Dollar Mondays never looked so good.

Also, to answer the question about how the money breaks down....via ESPN...

$2.5 million to be paid 15 days after the contract is approved
$2.5 million to be paid Jan. 2010
$2.5 million to be paid Jan. 2011
    $100,000 prorated salary for 2009
    $2 million salary for 2010
    $2.5 million salary for 2011
    $3 million salary for 2012
    Total = $15.1 million.

Busy few hours for Boras. From the ESPN.com story (which is probably just a reconstituted AP story, but whatever):

    http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=4403920

So adding in Strasburg's $15.1M, that's a total of $36.1M on five players. Even at the standard 4 percent (and Boras' cut is probably higher than that), that's a $1.44M day for Boras.

Not bad work if you can get it.

That'd be $1.44M over four years, right? He ain't getting all that at once, I wouldn't think.

I'd love to know the details of how that works, though.

I'm sure you're right about that, but whenever he gets that money, he basically made it in the course of one day. So I'd say that's a pretty good day.

Oh, that's a damn good day. I read somewhere -- maybe here? -- that he's worth something like $500 million.

That was something that got lost in that ninth inning. Lou just kind of wandered around like he didn't know what to do.

I wonder if he would respond to that the same way I would: Obsessively refreshing my bank's Web site to see when the direct deposit goes through.

    Current balance: $37.52.
    Current balance: $37.52.
    Current balance: $2,500,037.52.

Screw that. I need to know how he's going to use Marmol (fantasybaseballfanboylooser).
