20 years ago today, Bert Blyleven continued his all-time best start, and it was his 19th season.

Johnny Cueto threw 174 innings last season and 136 this year.
Why is Dusty to blame for these guys being so fragile?

Cueto never broke 112 pitches this season, and never broke 120 last season. I can't look at that workload and blame arm abuse.

That said, there's never a bad time to remind Dusty Baker that what happened to Mark Prior is 100% his fault.

Well throwing 174 innings at the age of 22 doesn't help.

Indeed. Some guys just have bum arms or shoulders or elbows.

    And don't forget Aaron Harang.

31 starts, which comes out to 5.6 innings per start.

So now we can't even ask young studs to go 6 innings per start?

Apparently not. There are plenty of instances in which you can look at what Baker has done and at least put part of the blame for certain pitchers blowing out their arms on him. I just don't see that with Cueto.

Depends on how many pitches his idiot manager lets him throw.

Aaron Harang is a very good pitcher who's on a very shitty team.

Maybe Cueto has a bad shoulder because he was babied and didn't work enough.
