God, this is just so fucking awesome.

Obviously I did not see it live, b/c my written orgasm would have been off-the-charts. But even just hearing about it fills my heart with unspeakable glee.

unfreakin' real. from down 6-0 after a half inning to 9-7 with first and second, none out in the bottom of ninth. both runners had reached on errors!

the 12th unassisted triple play in reg season history!! omfg!!!

Got 2 back in the 3rd, Misch was unhittable, got single runs in the 7th, 8th and 9th.

Lidge got three routine grounders (which became a run and two runners on). Francoeur scorched a ball up the middle (that would have been a clean single had the runners not been going), and there's your unassisted triple play. On the only well-hit ball of the inning. ;D

I can't say this enough: So. Very. Awesome.

Even better than the Mets losing to the Nats last year on a game-ending 3-5 DP that I called.

And so it goes for the 2009 Mets. The only thing worse than their performance has been their luck. One can only laugh.

This being the same owner, of course, who preaches accountability, yet disappears whenever the Mets fall apart...i.e. every summer.

A fucking joke, but a genius and an accomplished human being compared to his son.

Folks on Phils board are saying Tigers finished a game with one in 1927.

according to sny, first time since 1920 it came in the ninth inning. don't know if the other one ended the game or not. maybe spnited remembers?

according to wiki, the '20 one did not happen in ninth. one in '25 ended game and another in '27 came in ninth.

Bill Wambsganns in the 1920 World Series pulled one, but not to end the game.
