Hey, I gave you credit for six. After all, I did say 45,000 of your posts. You are at 45,006.

(that six is probably over estimating, but I'm feeling generous today).

    Yeah? Prove it, looser!

They expect him back sometime next year. I figure on 2011.

Side note: I see the Mets' website refers to something called "Club Mets." Is this a physical and emotional outlet for frustrated fans who are in fact allowed to club the Mets of their choice? If it is, spnited shoulda been a member last year.

Oh, I agree that this thing with Santana sounds ominous. Plus, there were concerns about him holding up long term when he came up with the Twins, so it's not a shock if he breaks down fairly young. I'm just curious to hear what comes out of the exam tomorrow.

A very distinct possibility. After years of following Jake Peavy (on one of my fantasy baseball keeper teams), I've learned not to assume. He's had a few sore forearms and elbows that sounded ominous, yet it was the ankle that took him out this year.

    Verlander's ball-strike ratio, through four:

    59 pitches, 48 strikes, 11 balls.

By comparison, J Weaver is at 48 strikes, 30 balls.

On MLB Network, Ken Rosenthal says Billy Wagner has invoked his no-trade clause and will block a deal to Boston. He wants to be a free agent (i.e. doesn't want to be Papelbon's setup guy and doesn't want to be K-Rod's setup guy.)

San Fran/Colorado in bottom of the 13th -- tied 1-1. Great, great game.

I absolutely love listening to Leiter call a game. He's passionate and smart and able to break it down for dummies like me. Just fantastic.

Given Papelbon's comments about Wagner -- comparing this situation to Gagne two years -- I'm guessing Papelbon's happy to hear that news. Of course, he and Manny Delcarmen probably should know better than to pseudo-bash a potential move by a front office that's built two championship teams since 2004.

Anybody watch Costas's interview with Jim Bouton yesterday on MLB Network? I'm just getting around to watching it tonight. Great stuff.
