Any truth to the rumor that A-Rod has been traded to the Pepsi truck league?

Bloomington in the state title game, 54-26.

Also whipped the holy hell out of Joliet Catholic during the regular season.

"The then-undefeated Bloomington Purple Raiders," Google said. "Carmel beat the Purple Raiders 54-26 to finish 14-0 and Bloomington ended up 13-1."

How about on the way to the title game, chistosos? One would hope the title game would feature two good teams.

    Too bad for Downstate, too.

That JCA team they beat, FYI, went undefeated the next season with a lot of the same players.

I see they defeated mighty Crystal Lake South, too. And Minooka.

They were the No. 1 team in the state that year, in any class. JCA coach Dan Sharp said (and I'm paraphrasing), "They would have won the state title in 6A, 7A, 8A or 37A."

No, I didn't graduate from Carmel. They were, quite simply, a machine that season.

A machine that played Crystal Lake South and Westchester St. Joe.

What's your point? They didn't make their schedule. St. Joe's was a conference game, and Crystal Lake South was in the playoffs.

Taking command of the steering wheel and guiding us back to baseballland.

Helluva performance by Aaron Harang tonight. Eight innings of shutout ball, four hits, a walk and six strikeouts.

His ERA is too high to be considered (seriously) for Cy Young, but right now there's no better road pitcher than Mr. Harang.

Still trying to find out why Guardado wasn't called on to save the ninth. Coffey picthed well until he allowed that blooper, then he puts the tying run on. Thank God for Bill Bray, earning the first of the many saves he'll rack up in his career.

I think it's a joke that's spilled over into seriousness.

I rip IHSA football because I don't think it's as competitive as it should be, especially since it went to eight classes. Too many suburban schools get caught up in their rivalries and don't develop competitive teams. Now they don't have to because there are eight classes.

Whoa. Just got back in town, and I'm confused. Why did Bray close? Is he their guy now?
