Possibly the deepest post of the week.

But then, monkeys pounding on typewriters could have churned out the deepest post of this week.

Is that good stuff or what DyePack? Just let me have a couple more drinkski-poos and I'll be lighting up this board.

Yeah Pallister, you know what I'm talkin' about. "Now that you're on the bike, the next thing you're gonna wanna do is take a little bit of a rest." "You'll find that just getting on the bike is gonna make you weak." Haha!!

Sometimes, a season belongs to a team. And this year that team of good fortune seems to be the Mets. John Maine, who couldn't make the God-awful Baltimore staff, throws a complete game shutout and gets backing by another grand slam by Jose Valentin. It looks like whatever Omar and Willie touch is golden. (At least, in the National League).

    Come on, John Maine?

implication, not inference... actually, I didn't even imply it... I said it.

    Albatross?

This is your wonderful baseball, BYH, where teams can have a near-infinite payroll, if they have the right location. So, even his $252M is a blip.

    Here's the deal ...

If he's hurt, he needs to sit the fuck down.
If he's not, Ned Yost needs to sit him the fuck down.

As I stated in an earlier rant, ALL-STAR MY ASS! He is single-handedly killing the Brewers right now.

Four straight blown saves -- two in as many games -- get the fuck off the mound tomato can.

If I could kneecap Turnbow and get away with it, I'd be in Milwaukee within hours. Turnbow has never been dominant and has frequently played with fire during his time as the Brewers closer. He's gotten saves by virtue of pitching one inning with no one on base -- a situation most pitchers can succeed in. He was never a Rivera/Gagne type and he isn't even in the same category as a Joe Nathan (not dominant, but certainly reliable). The Brewers should have dealt him after last season, ala Kolb, when his value was highest.

Agreed on all counts. The way baseball GM's fall in love with perilous closers in the vein of Turnbow is as much a mystery to me as NBA GM's who see a 7-footer -- who has been, is, and always will be a stiff -- luck out and have two good games in a first-round playoff series exit, which leads fucktard GM to ascertain that he should throw a salary cap-busting contract at him.
