Scott Thorman, that's right, Scott Thorman, just hit a homer against Chan Ho.

And Smoltz, that's right, John Smoltz, followed with a single.

    And here comes Betemit.

This time Betemit misses 2 sac-bunts, foul, but this time Chan Ho's nasty inward-tailing fastball paints the corner, backwards-K.

    That was a nice job.

Wasn't Chan Ho doing really good a little while ago? I recall looking at him in my fantasy league because he had a 3.30 ERA or something.

  4. For what its worth - with his win tonight Curt Schilling now has 203 and that puts him in a tie for 99th place all time (with Lew Burdette, Silver King and Jack Stivetts) . I can see him at least catching Jim Bunning and Catfish Hunter for 66th place with 224 before Schilling retires.

Perhaps, Angola, but Chipper the Clipper just raked a bases-loaded, RBI-single, 3-0.

Andruw's up with the bases loaded.

Edit: The single only loaded the bases, so it's 2-0.

Speaking of Schilling, he is having a pretty solid season, but the person that has surprised me more is Mussina. He started so well last year and then quickly went into the tank.
    Moose is 11-3 with a 3.30 ERA
    Schilling is 11-3 with a 3.42 ERA
Sad thing is, neither are even being talked about in the Cy Young discussion. Also, is this the year Moose finally wins 20?

Andruw just reached at a 1-2 slunker and pulled it off the left-field fence, 4-0.

  8. Mussina is in a contract year. it makes you wonder

Verlander goes seven innings today, allows two hits and two walks with six Ks. Season ERA is down to 2.83 and he has allowed just one run in his last 22 IP.

Pitched on 7 days rest too.

Yeah, but I recall hearing something about him changing his offseason program where he doesn't throw as much to try and save himself for the dog days of summer.

Didn't mean much the last time he was in a contract year. (And he still got big bucks)
