This is what happens to the country bumpkin products of the Boras Machine. Less thinking, more generating automated responses crafted in the lab. (Yes I know Strasburg is from California, but country bumpkin here refers to kids who go from anonymity to the spotlight in almost no time flat)

O no! I probably just made Cranberry cry.

    I agree, BYH.

And Sp's right...the money thing was a stupid question, but it's painfully obvious that you have to dumb it down for this kid. And even then, he still comes across as a dolt.

I mean, it's not a huge deal, I suppose. Just irritating.

Anyone else catch this? MLB.com reported that Yankees catcher Jorge Posada forgot the count, went into the dugout after strike two ... then came back to the plate and belted a home run last night against the Orioles.

    Awesome.

Despite getting jobbed on a call (umps ruled a ball Cuddyer clearly caught against the baggy a double) the Twins take a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the sixth on getaway day.

That Mauer character, who isn't really that valuable, had a ground rule double and scored.

If he were valuable, he'd have scored on the ground rule double.

It's not a big deal if he's just spewing cliches b/c he's so focused on the game and his career, yada yada yada. It is a big deal if he's just robotically doing what he thinks he should be doing and has no idea what to do the first time something in his career doesn't go according to script.

Yeah, but what exactly is he focused on right now? Playing long toss in Viera, Florida? It's not like he's preparing for a start tomorrow.

He "practiced" for like 34 seconds the other day.

I just hope he realizes that having a personality helps. He needs Tony Plush as his life coach.

Zeke, anyone want to explain what the hell happened to Nathan today? Ack. Twice had two strikes with two outs and a 2-0 lead?

Wow. I just saw that he blew up. I didn't even realize that it all happened with two outs and he had two strikes on both Beckham and Konerko. (Bastard single-handedly killed one of my fantasy teams with that meltdown, dammit!)
