    455.

Park opened in 1994, streak started in 1995 and continued through 2001. They added about 1,000 seats in the bleachers in 1997 because of ticket demand. Now, they're blocking off seats in center field so they can have a fucking Progressive SUV spinning around.

Not sure what's sadder: That it's come to the point where you can literally count the number of people in the stands like the '80s Cleveland Stadium days or the fact that nobody around here cares anymore. Congratulations, Dolan family. You've found a way to stop pissing people off with your stewardship of the club: You've made the stop caring altogether.

Just to make sure it got mentioned, the Royals completed a three-game sweep of the first-place Tigers. And that's with Bruce Chen, Robinson Tejeda and Lenny DiNardo starting those games.

The Royals sure do know how to show up and play in September, 30 games under .500.

Howie Kendrick is 2-2 in his first start in approximately 78 days. Angels up 2-0 in the fifth.

OOP, I've been casually following the Pirates debate for a couple pages now. Let me point out one important fact that I don't think has been mentioned yet.
The Steelers, despite being in a small market, have a national following. Lots of people jumped on the bandwagon in the 70s and never left. They probably generate a tremendous amount of money in merchandise sales that the Pirates don't.
Not saying that the two sports' economic systems aren't vastly different. But it seems, on some level, like apples and oranges and it also seems like it's worth noting.

All of which means two hits in support of Zack Greinke tomorrow. They've been killing his Cy Young chances all year. Might as well finish the job.

Meh, he only produced one run, and that was after Torii Hunter gave John Lackey all the support he would need. :)

I'm glad Blanton decided to tie a balloon to that curveball he threw to Desmond. I could have it that one out.

Oh, the NFL setup and baseball is definitely apples and oranges.

If I remember correctly, MLB teams share official merchandising revenue, though even with that the Pirates wouldn't match the Steelers. That said, the bulk of NFL revenue comes from television and that is the area where the Steelers make far more money than the Pirates.
