The only thing that bugs me about Mets fans is their inability to see that their beloved have turned into the hated Yankees.

How much shit do you think the average Met fan would have raised two or three years ago if the Yankees went out and got Shawn Green AFTER the deadline for just about nothing to bolster a team that was already 15 games in front?

Actually, the Mets aren't the Yankees. The Yankees are well-run from top to bottom.

Dude, you sound like you're from Cleveland. Nut up.

The "woe is my, my team is cursed" stuff is for the people from the midwestern bergs with self-image problems.

It is possible that the 3-0 pitch was something he thought he could really drive. Just look at last night's game. The count was 3-0, he swung and the Yankees took the lead.

Of course, it is equally possible that he just wanted to keep that hit streak alive.

Four straight homers in the ninth to tie it, and a 2-run homer in the 10th to win it.

    It's unreal.

I listened to Vin Scully's and Charley Steiner's calls of those home runs. Scully was his usual understated self. Steiner was screaming like a 6-year-old girl at a birthday party.

    Scully is great.

Jag - Is there anywhere on the net to listen to the Scully call?

Twins jump all over Wakefield in the second, take a 4-0 lead.

    Smell it.

Check that. Hunter with a two-run job, Twins lead 6-0. Wakefield out after 2.1.

I'll try to update the Tigers game for Hank, who's too superstitious to jinx anything.

White Sox touch up Verlander for four in the fourth, lead 4-0.

Twins still holding a 6-3 lead in the eighth at Fenway.

And it's done, Twins win 6-3. Too bad the Tigers couldn't take care of the White Sox, though.
