Uhh, junior? Beckett hasn't missed a single start this season. I think he's been over his blister problems for quite a while.

Ahh yes, good to get that one under my belt. Felt like I'd been missing all the fun as everyone else blistered (!!) the newbie. :D

I think even Hawktard would agree it's over now. The team has few signs of life.

white sox magic number for elimination from the wildcard falls to three if they lose. they're down 7-2 in the sixth and it's in a rain delay. drops to two if the twins win tonight.

Hershiser said on baseball tonight that he was in the Sox clubhouse the other day, and there was a sign on the bulltein board about signing up to have your car shipped home.

No shortage of names. That team has flat out quit. Which should surprise no one who has watched the Twins make Chicago their bitch down the stretch four of the past five years.

Ryan Howard's HRs are 250 percent of his 2B output.

    That may be unprecedented.

What does that have to do with anything? Are you trying to say his lack of doubles reduces his worth as a hitter?

    No.

    It's simply incredible.

    Simpering asshat.

    Not quite.

    Mark McGwire had 70 HRs and 21 2Bs in 1998, a HR/2B ratio of more than 3:1.

His ratios were even more out of whack during his injury-plagued final two seasons: 32 HRs and 8 2Bs in 2000 and 29 HRs and 4 2Bs in 2001.

Good one. Isn't it about time for you to sign off and scream at your children?

I can't believe the damn Phils have suckered me in again. Every year, it seems like the same thing. Well, fuck it. Lucy's probably going to pull that damn football away again, but I'm gonna try like hell to kick it.

Yea I am sure the weak minded Beckett (see world series MVP) pitched better because he has no pressure on him.
