    I thought it was head-to-head, but I wasn't sure

You what's sad? It's possible St. Louis will win the NL Central despite having a losing record against division foes.

Currently, they're 37-40 with four games left against the Brewers.

You sure there's no one-game playoff if the Dodgers and Padres end in a tie? I thought they just had the coin flip a week or two ago to determine all the possible one-game playoff hosts ...

(I remember because the AJC just did a story on Schuerholz being sad that this was the first year in forever the Braves weren't even invited to the coin flip. :'()

Only if it involves a playoff spot. If they are both in, the head to head winner gets the division, the loser gets the wc.

If memory serves, the Yankees and Red Sox tied last year and the Yankees won the division because they won the season series.

I would love the Cards' lead shrink to 1.5 games. Edit, the Cards' lead has dropped to 1.5 games after tonight's 7-5 loss.

I really like this. Go Astros.

    Cards 7 straight losses.

    Astros 7 straight wins.

    Monumental choke in the making.

Given that the Cards benefitted from the monumental Phils'scollapse of 1964 and went on to win the World Series (costing Yogi Berra his job as Yankees manager), wouldn't it be delightful to see karma bite Tony the Genius in the ass this year.

Good God Brewers, salvage one morsel of goodness out of this most disappointing season and fucking eliminate the Cardinals this weekend!
