Good evening Minnesota Twins. This is the Kansas City Royals, and we'd like to welcome you back to Earth.

After Thursday, I hope the Twinkies win out and catch the Tigers!

Which, since the offense has suddenly reverted to form, is very likely.

I would say this is probably the worst way to tell a manager he's going to be fired at the end of the year, no?

Nice to see the Nationals front office getting off to a rousing start to their tenure.

For the third straight time, Ryan Howard has been intentionally walked to bring up Conine, who is 0-for-6 in the game. Will Conine validate the move yet again?

And in DC, Ryan Zimmerman drew a bases-loaded walk to push the game into extra innings. The game is now going to the bottom of the 13th after Conine dropped to 0 for 7 at the plate -- he's yet to hit it out of the infield.

Zimmerman tonight is 2 for 3 with a home run, two RBI and three walks.

Rollins is aces for the Phils.
    Now can they hold on?
    Again.

Gotta love a Rule V kid trying to save the game for the Phillies.

And to make it even better, Beltran Perez is on deck to pinch-hit.

Ausmus gets a sac fly in the 15th and the Astros pull it out, 7-6.

Assuming they have anything left now, the Astros are still alive.

This Phills-Nats game might never end. The Nats loaded the bases with none out and just got a sacrifice fly to close within one run. Brian Schneider at the plate now.

EDIT -- Schneider grounded into a double play, Phills win 8-7 in 14 innings. Great game to watch.
