Pube, if you're dreaming of playing Sean Salisbury to my John Clayton, you can just go have your homoerotic fantasies elsewhere.

And I played hockey and football. Was always mroe of a fan of baseball, though.

    Pastor:

Unless something changes. Oh, and injuries happen outside the NYC area, too. Sometimes, they even happen in the playoffs. To old, old players.

    Never know.

If you honestly believe AL baseball is more challenging than NL or more enjoyable to watch as a fan, you've got problems. That's a generalization. I'm not saying this is one of the NL's brighter seasons. But I've been to six AL and 10 NL games in 2006, and I can say the only edge the AL has is the beautiful stadiums. Again, there are exceptions.

I'd bet a year away from the board on that one... but the reward ain't enough... of the three amigos, you are actually cogent compared with Mr. Urine-Covered Brick Road and Hunter S. Douchebag.

I'd only make that bet with someone I detest to my core.

I only detest you down to the epidermis.

    NL is the superior brand.

    Cradle --
You seem to be missing something. I have followed, and discuss, American League baseball more closely this season because the TEAMS ARE MUCH BETTER.

You can't even argue that. So I'm not sure what you're arguing.

CR, it is all about the quality of play. The NL doesn't have it. I'm sorry.

You are correct, injuries do happen. Things can change. Sheffield could be worse than Giambi defensively. I'm just trying to show that all stats truly point to that Yankees as the superior team.

Now let's watch them duke it out. :)

    You have your fancy numbers.

I've got Boof, baby. And every one knows BOOF > WANG.

If they do end up playing each other, I suggest a side bet. Loser has to explain the world to Pube. ;) (That wink's for you, Pube).

You guys are cracking me up. Obviously you stand firm in your beliefs, so I'll let you think what you think.

Columbo, I'm glad there's some intelligent life on this thread.

One of these days, I'd be interested for one of you AL guys to send me a PM explaining how the AL is "better" or more fun to watch. You pick the criteria. None of the bullshit interleague play statistics everone with a raging hard-on for the Junior Circuit always pulls out. I REALLY wanna know.

Per Yahoo!: LOS ANGELES PITCHER BRAD PENNY HAS LEFT THE GAME AFTER THE FIRST INNING WITH LOWER BACK STIFFNESS.

CR, I would rather watch better teams player a better quality version of baseball. In that case, I'm not watching a pitcher flail at pitches or Neifi Perez be considered a starter. I'll stick with my teams in the AL.

Boof is the sound you make when you fall down. Wang, well, we all know how important that is! ;D

    CR --
You're making less and less sense as we go.

    Why are interleague statistics bullshit?

The Yankees, Twins, Tigers, and A's would all beat the best team in the NL (the Mets) in a seven game series to be played right now. The Cardinals, long thought to be the second best team in the NL, just lost seven games in a row.

Can you cite any evidence that the NL is not vastly poorer than the NL this year? Because it's fairly accepted in baseball circles, I think.

    CR:

The AL is better -- this year -- and, really, the last 3-4 years -- because its teams are better. That's all it is.

I'm an NL fan, too. But the AL is a *VASTLY* superior league right now, in terms of quality of play.
