Todd Helton is no longer a stud, Shottie. Power is way down.

He could probably hit .300 until he's as old as Julio Franco. But any chance he had at the HOF has disappeared the last two years.

I'm not sure I'd call him a stud anymore. His production has really tapered off the last couple of seasons.

And while his road stats we're OK, he obviously benefitted from banned substances the thin air at Coors.

I think we should keep Mr. Helton in mind when we're fellating Mr. Pujols.

I hope you're joking. Isn't David Ross the next Johnny Bench? ::)

There never has and never will be another catcher half as good as Johnny Bench. [/joe morgan]

Good post - would you rank him ahead of Rocket for one win?

Astros won again today, 3-0 behind Oswalt. Puts the pressure on the Cards tonight. Will Pujols bail them out again?

    Good God, yes.

Beckett would at least pitch thru his blister.

Buck, I absolutely would take my chances with the 1. Astros, 2. Phillies and 3. Dodgers in a series against any AL team.

I have the Padres pitching slotting in ahead of LA, but the overall chances hurt by the worst offense in the playoffs.

If the Astros do make it... how many combined games back would they have made up from August 1 on in 2005 and 2006?
