"Other" third baseman? The Mets pick up A-Rod to backup Wright? If so that's a good move by Minaya, he's a little pricey but he could be a pinch hitter in games that they are leading by four or more runs.

Not real windy. Pretty hot tho.

Second inning, Prior got a couple Ks, but did hit a batter.

Prior due to hit in the third. He's over 60 pitches already (his max is 90 today). Interesting if Dusty Baker lets him hit.

  4. Well, Prior did settle down somewhat - until giving up a 2-run HR to backup catcher Vance Wilson. And that ends Prior's day. So, to recap, that's 8 runs and 4 HRs in 3-2/3 innings.

And, something I didn't think I'd see, at least anytime soon, Prior was actually booed off the field.

  5. To follow up on that last point, do you think Cub fans, who didn't want Prior to be traded for Tejada in the off-season, would like to have seen that trade be made now?

And, going back to when the Twins took Mauer instead of Prior for financial reasons, how does that draft look now?

Not to be a Prior apologist, but it was his first major league start in almost a year or so.

    oh my God.
    OH MY GOD.

I'm having an orgasm right in my chair.

    OH MY GOD.

The 2006 NL rookie of the year just drilled that thing.

    OH MY GOD.

That's 46 RBI, I believe the most among MLB rookies. Scored two today. He's pushing .290 now.

    OH MY GOD.

    OH MY GOD.

Fanboy alert - I'm out of CONTROL.

Note to self: Next time I am even tempted to go into my "pitchers today are such wusses. Whatever happened to the complete game, pitch both ends of a double header," good old days, remind me about what I just saw and why teams have closers.

    Would ya like a cigarette?  :D ;D

In an unrelated story, the Metsies are violating federal wildlife laws by slaughtering Orioles. 9-4 Mets, top of the eighth.

Little surprised by that.  They hit him hard a couple of times in the eighth, if Cabrera doesn't make a great play against Vidro the Nats take a lead into the top of the ninth.  But Rivera came in during the eighth yesterday and I guess Torre just doesn't trust the rest of those clowns.

Wang pitched one hell of a game, I almost feel bad for him.

    Nawwwwww!

Note to self: Next time I am even tempted to look at this thread, I must think of Moddy's orgasmic writhings for Natty Zimmerman and recoil in horror. Then find another thread. :-\
