  1. How can Wright be good enough to be MVP when he's not even at the level of A-Rod in an off-year?

    ;)

  2. For all the love for Glavine - it should be noted that Kenny Rogers also won his 10th game today (and Schilling could get his tonight).

Also - Prince Fielder hit his 13th HR (but I still think Uggla is the leader for the NL ROY)

I'll never forget Kenny Rogers walking in the series-winning run in the playoffs against the Braves when he was a Met, not to mention the cameraman incident last year. If he wins the Cy Young, there is no God.

  4. There is no chance Rogers wins the Cy Young. There are three things that will prevent that:

    1. Rogers only does good when he's "comfortable". If he feels any adversity or pressure it greatly affects his performance. So far this year he's comfortable at home (1.76 ERA) but not so comfortable on the road (4.47 ERA). If he's in the Cy Young race late in the season - he will implode from the pressure.

    2. Rogers is getting better than 6 runs a start in run support. He can't count on that for a full season

    3. Halladay, Santana, Contreras (even though I'm not a believer), Mussina (also not a believer), Kazmir (darkhorse), Zito and Schilling (who I'm guessing finishes second - always a bridesmaid and all that) - all these guys will finish ahead of Rogers when the votes are counted. I know I'm leaving some guys off the list - the point is Kenny Rogers "A-Rods" when things get tight and he won't win the Cy Young.

Well said, Lou. You should start a blog! :D

Now go find me Mike Lowell's career splits.

Kazmir will become a darkhorse when he manages to get through the 6th inning without throwing 100 pitches.

(Avg. 5 2/3 IP per start, 102 pitches per start)

Kazmir has a soft 3.39 ERA. <----stupid old man rationale

  8. Lowell's career splits? That's impossible. You may as well ask me to find you a shrubbery.

While I'm typing - let me give some love to one of my favorite players - Jamie Moyer.

In Moyer's next start he will probably move past Whitey Ford for 67th place on the all-time strikeout list (Moyer needs just 5 K's to pass Whitey). His next win puts him into a tie for 84th on the all-time list.

Jamie Moyer a true gentleman of the game.

Never said Kazmir didn't have a good record and a good ERA and a high K/IP ratio...dickhead.

    Also: 90 hits and 33 walks in 87 2/3 IP...1.40 WHIP.

    Yeah but it's a soft 1.40.

In other news, the Sox bullpen is just as awful as the Yankees.

Hey, dickhead, don't you have to go update your "Running AFraud key situations" thread to reflect today's two-out RBI hit in the 8th that put the Yankees ahead (after Jeter and Giamb-Balco struck out)?

Thanks Grumpy the incontinent dwarf but someone already updated it for me!

Maybe this will loosen your mood. Among other things!
