David Wright: 2-run HR in the 4th, 2-run HR in the fifth of Eric Milton ...Mets 6, Reds 2 after 5 despite Petey's struggles (5 walks through 5 inns.)

I love Torii Hunter. I am watching baseball tonight and they had him on the phone about facing Clemens. He is 0 for 23 in his career versus Clemens. Ravich was asking if he'd bunt to try to break the streak, and Hunter said that is the weak move and he'd never do that. Then he said, "But if I do get a hit off him, I might ask for the ball."

Jays have the bases loaded in the first against Atlanta. Braves may never win again.

You know, I've been tempted the last three or four days to ask leo1 if it had been codified somewhere prohibiting the Braves from scoring first. Expect heavy fines after tnoght. 8) TBS just showed a graphic that atlanta has only led 42 innings in the past 22 games, and 26 of those were in the three wins in that stretch.

For the talk of Erik Bedard's struggles this year, his last few starts have been really good. Last night's start rated somewhere as the best start of the season for any pitcher in baseball thus far. Gave up two hits and struck out 12. His worst outings came when he was trying to make some adjustments with Leo Mazzone. Now it appears as if he made them, and added the circle change taught to him by Kris Benson (who has been a huge pickup for the O's for off field stuff as much as on it) who learned it from Glavine. Since the month of June started the O's pitching has steadily picked up, and their bullpen has an ERA two runs lower than it was the first two months. Too bad all the progress looks like it's going to waste. BTW, how has that Roger McDowell guy done in Atlanta?

Anthony Reyes, making his fourth career start for the Cardinals, not only managed (to this point) to keep the White Sox in single digits, but had a no-hitter with one out in the seventh.

Then he hung a pitch to Thome.

    1-0 White Sox.

I've been to Fenway once to cover a game. It was April 13, 2001. Friday the 13th. Good Friday. Full Moon. New York Yankees.

Paxton Crawford started for the Sox. I liked his stuff, definitely a guy I thought had a nice future. Then it all fell apart.

Part of the dynasty at Carlsbad High in New Mexico. Carlsbad High Cavemen.

Anyway, seeing that picture at SI.com made me chuckle.

Because it's easy to root for the Yankees. ;)

Royals break out the brooms today! That's five out of six. KC has a winning record against the NL this year (5-4). That's sad.

BREAKING NEWS: Atlanta's bullpen is bad.

This would be comical if it wasn't so sad. Hate to see the streak go down like this.

If the streak's going to go down, it ought to die a fiery, ugly death.

Somehow I think the Braves will be a very different team next year. Starting with a new skip.

Will Bobby quit or die? He looks like he wants to shoot himself right now. And I thought I had a shitty day.
