C'mon Zeke you know there's no using logic on Spnited.

Joe Mauer is the softest .380 hitting catcher ever. Deal with it.

I watched him look pretty feeble tonight against Clemens et al.

After first innng K on weak swing ... man on second one out, tapper back to the mound, didn' even advance the runner...man on first one out, double play grounder to first base.
    None on, one out, single.

I have never seen an otherwise exceptionally smart person have such an inversely related strain of abject stupidity.

    It's incredible.

    BeeYatcH is no fucking rube.

    I don't get it.

You had better pray that you are a) hitting home runs in the draft and b) hitting home runs in selling off the established stars, something the New York, LA, Chicago and Boston NEVER have to worry about.

And, if you hit 00 on the roulette wheel, you can have a good three- to four-year run.

Ywah. Middle of the road-type guys. Guys who teams have given up on. I realize they don't spend much money, but they do have to spend to fill the voids.

Question for all you experts. When you were discussing AL Rookie of the Year candidates, did anybody mention Francisco Liriano, or did I miss it? He only had 23 innings last year and 31 days on the ML roster, so I believe he's eligible. He looks like a possible winner to me, no?

And ... you would fire Bobby Cox after his first losing season in the last 200 or so? Hey, he didn't put this collection together, did he? Besides, I've always been told that when the Braves do make a move, it will be to switch Cox to GM and bring in a new manager.

  8. Casty - I mentioned Liriano. Think its going to be him or Papelbon in the AL.

Strange stat - the West Coast Offense - both the Oakland A's and San Diego Padres are in first place but they are also the only two teams in baseball with no hitter with a better than .300 batting average (minimum 100 AB). I just find that interesting - not sure what to make of it or if anything should be made of it.

Papelbon, Liriano ... Liriano, Papelbon ... you really can't make a wrong decision. Liriano has been just amazing. And the Red Sox would have been toast already had it not been for Papelbon.

I don't think he quite deserves the votes that Papelbon and Liriano should get, but Justin Verlander deserves a little love too.

Brett Myers should stick to hitting batters. Apparently, he'd rather smack his significant other. :(

Sadly, Myers will have a DH hitting for him this weekend.

By way of explanation: If I were an MLB pitcher, and an opposing batter had smacked his wife around recently ... first pitch goes right to the head.
