Fahey is a guy who I've never thought would amount to anything but a career minor leaguer. But he's a guy who learned discipline, and while he's hit a couple of homers this year, you know damn well they were accidents. He's the best fielding infielder the Orioles have. The comparison is often made to Mark Belanger.

And for you older guys, he's the son of the former Dodger catcher Bill Fahey.

And did you see Benson's homer yesterday? Took a 3-1 fastball from Pedro and just got it over.

Attention Moddy: I became a full-fledged Nats fan yesterday -- if I'm allowed, that is -- for beating on Mariano Rivera and coming back from 9-8 to win, 11-9. I earned new respect for Jose Guillen and now am joining the Zimmerman bandwagon.

    Go Nats.

If you're allowed? More than allowed. Welcome aboard.
And, uh, new fanboy: It was 9-2 after Damon's slam. 11-9 final.

How about my boy Daryle Ward chugging home on that hit?

  4. Welcome back, Prior ... 4-0 in the 1st, still only 1 out. He's already given up 2 HRs.

Nats TV guys just said he got lit, I didn't hear the details. Wow. Them's some ugly details.

Wang and O'Connor involved in a nice pitching duel in D.C. 1-0 Nats but Yanks threatening a tad in the sixth. Jeter on third with one out, everyone's favorite non-clutch hitter at bat.

  8. Missed the beginning of the game. What are the conditions at Wrigley today? Is it one of those windy Wrigley days?

1-1 now. A Rod (or A Fraud depending on your point of view) walked on strike three. Not a happy guy.

Sounds similar to Mets-O's, Moddy ...1-0 O's bottom of 5th, a base hit, and 2 hit batters with 2 out.
The "other" third baseman in town....GRAND SLAM! 4-1 Mets

I happen to like the Nats' third baseman plenty fine.

    BUT

If I had to pick one from NY, I'd take Wright. No offense to ARod - I'm not fully on the A Fraud bandwagon - but we're talking young and lots of upside.

Wright and Zimmerman grew up fairly close to each other. The area has produced a lot of talent recently.

Bob Carpenter just said on Nats broadcast that Wright is MVP if season ended today. "He's the best player on the best team in the league."
