    They won't make the playoffs.

  5. Derrick Turnbow is some All-Star. Nice blown save today, Jerk Face. That would be your second in a row, and 6th of the season.

i am confident my dear friend casty, a baseball sage if there ever was one, will support my claim:

ANYONE WHO PUTS DEREK JETER IN THE OVERRATED CATEGORY IS A DAMN BASEBALL IDIOT.

jeter is an all-time great. watch him play every day, and you learn that quickly. only a fantasy geek wouldn't see how truly blessed any baseball fan is to watch him play every day. 8) 8) 8)

    And Coffey returns the favor.

Can they swap Turnbow out and Capuano into the All-Star Game?

Brewers do it again in the bottom of the 9th at home.

Shockey, Jeter does most everything correct on the baseball field. He showed us last night how to go to his right, whirl and throw someone out at first, the same play Jose Reyes attempted and failed to pull off later in the  game. Now I like Reyes a lot and he's still learning, but he's not at Jeter's level yet defensively. Offense? He's close but still not as consistent. When he's hot, he may be better than Jeter, but then he cools off. With the game on the line, I'd have to take Jeter.

All-time great might be too strong, but he is a among the best today.

my opinion is that jeter's post-seasons factor into the among the "all-timers" deal. if the a-rods of the world get demerits for post-season performances, then the jeters go up a notch.

all i've ever heard about the mattingly vs. puckett arguments is that kirby's in the hall because of his play in two world series titles. so i'm grading jeter on the watching-him-play level -- he's not a super power stats guy -- and his postseason excellence of long standing.

And therein lies the problem among people who don't know much about baseball....

ARod's non-volume postseason numbers are superior to Jeter's, except BA, which is .002 back of him.

Jeter has mediocre range and is a glorified singles hitter, at the park and away.
