You'd have kidney stones, too, if you had to carry that punchless lineup...

    Carrying that lineup?
Justin Morneau has 22 HRs, 71 RBI and a .585 slugging percentage. He's the guy carrying that lineup.

Don't know why that's directed at me ChrisLou. I think Olney is one of the best, I don't see any anti-Mets bias just because he was once on the Yankees beat and I think he nailed the Mets situation perfectly.

You're parenthetical comment indicates you're just another whiny paranoid Red Sox fan who, despite the fact that your team is significantly better than the Yankees, still has to piss and moan about the (formerly) big, bad Evil Empire.

Now you know how I felt last year, zeke.

I love how the Red Sox can beat up anyone they want in interleague play, only to return to the AL and get it handed to them by the Devil Rays on back-to-back nights. For some reason, they seem to give Boston more fits than they do other teams.

Which is exactly why they have won 21 of 24...with Morneau hitting 11 home runs and driving in 27 runs.

    Agreed.

Although Torri Hunter also had a hot streak at the same time.

I, personally, think they got hot when they finally decided to jettison some of the dead weight and played the kids... (Barttlett, Punto, Kubel, along with putting Liriano in the rotation).

    But that's just me.

  8. I didn't think that was under debate. I thought the fact that I'm a whiny paranoid Red Sox fan was settled long ago.

And you can see Olney's pro-Yankees bias if you watch for it. The truth is out there. I want to believe.

The Mets have their answer. They've called up Jose Lima. Pardon me while I laugh.

The Mets will win the National League, but will be swept in the World Series.

Tigers avoid their first sweep since a three-game job by Chicago in the season's second week. Potential All-Star starting pitcher Kenny Rogers picks up his 11th win.

And of course that means the Twins and the White Sox will now win.
