    You're right, we're not. :D

Actually, many of the "fans" who pack Wrigley on a daily basis are annoying as fuck. I think Wrigley could stand to be emptied for a year or two to clear out the fucking beer garden mentality. But it'll never happen.

I'm just saying, be careful, is all. Sox fans always sold themselves as the underdog, even in Chicago. Keep this up, and no one will like you (not you, personally. but you know what i mean).

The "no one likes us" bit is part of the underdog persona for the Sox and their fans. Prick or not, Pierzynski is their guy, so they'll defend him (and vote for him). He's sorta like the drunken relative who constantly pisses you off, but you'd never let anyone fuck with him because he's "family." Just as Sox fans have worn their second-team status as a badge of honor, so, too, do they get some enjoyment out of everyone else's hatred of Pierzynski.

Hendry is going to try to keep Dusty to the end of the year. Hendry's hoping for a good winning streak to lessen the pressure to fire Dusty. Dusty's already started a whispering campaign about what little talent Hendry gave him to work with this year.  If Hendry fires him, they'll be nothing stopping Dusty from elevating the whispering to shouting.  The race card might also be played by Dusty's friends in the media if he's fired.

By the way, if Hendry fires Baker, doesn't he also have to fire Hendry? (I know he got an extension recently, but it seems to me he's as much at fault as Baker is).

Except the pitching injuries, in part, may be the result of the manager leaving pitchers in for too long. The GM can scream all he wants about it, but when the game starts, can't do a thing about it. So I would give Hendry a reprieve for Wood and Prior's bad luck. And it's not like Patterson was getting it done when he played in Wrigley.

That said, Jones and Pierre were never going to be the answer for that team.
