Well, Burnett's got nothing on the Royals, who just thumped him 13-3. That's 13 wins in their last 18 for Kansas City. So who's next?

Break up the Royals. Or at least give them an All-Star break to break up their momentum. ;D :D ;)

Would have been better to go out there with a shotgun and just put Lima Time out of his (and our) misery.

The good news is he'll be released for good tomorrow to make room for Pelfrey, who starts the second game of the doubleheader (not the game on FOX).

And there was a rather interesting debut tonight by Henry Owens, 27-year-old converted catcher/Rule 5 pick up who has 51 Ks in 25 innings at Binghamton this season. Might be a help in the pen the rest of the season.

Tigers gain a game on White Sox and Twins with a 6-1 win over Seattle.

Bonderman gives up six hits (three in the ninth, which led to the only run) and no walks.

I'm rooting for them, Hank. I have my reasons.

If anybody is going to catch the Mets -- and that is not an impossibility -- it will not be the Phillies or the Braves or Moddy's Nats but Joe Girardi's Florida Marlins. Manager of the Year, it would seem to me.

No doubt about that. He deserves it at this point.

They've got a good shot at taking at least 3 of 4 this weekend.

Some good young players on that team but I don't know if they have staying power. The Nats beat them three out of four and scored a bunch of runs. But, yeah, the Marlins are much better than anyone figured they'd be and Girardi seems to be doing a very good job.

I hope Uggla cools off, clearing the way for my favorite rookie to win ROY.

Every other team in that division has such major flaws that the Mets can limp to the finish and win by five games. Which is good for them, I guess, since they look like they'll limp to the finish.
