It's great to see Shelton start hitting again. He's finally agressive instead of taking until he got two strikes every time. They're threatening again right now.

 

Damn, they get Guillen to foul pop up and Monroe to fly out to right. They need to start cashing these chances in.

How good has Miner been? He's pitching like Greg Maddux.

 

Weird -- Jon Garland and Roy Oswalt both make relief appearances tonight. Both allow runs. It the first relief appearance for each since a two-week time frame in Aug/Sept 2004.

 

Weaver may not being going to 6-0 yet, the Angels bullpen is collapsing in the eighth.

 

Thus confounding the experts who predicted that his elbow was too fragile.

Well, they got the fertilizing part done.

 

Jered Weaver just became the first pitcher in the American League to win his first six Major League starts since the DH rule.

As I noted a month or so ago, he's a legend in the making, especially now that the Angels are back in the playoff hunt.

 

I wanted to fight Dave Dombrowski when he traded Jered's brother. I thought Jeff was poised to contend for the Cy Young annually. I'm glad Dave Dombrowski runs the Tigers.
