BBQ sauce

    BBQ pork shoulder in the crock pot is my latest obsession.

    I'm sure slow cooked pork shoulder in the crock pot can be delicious.
    But is it technically barbecue if you do it in the crock pot?
    I think it has to be smoked to be barbecue.

    I've done slow, slow roasted pork shoulder in the oven that is fantastic.
    But sadly, I do not own a smoker.
    Yet.
    It is on the list, somewhere between a Martin D18 and a handgun.

    The last couple of years I've gotten on a kick where I'd just as soon have barbecued pork links as anything else. Divine food if done right

    Smoked salt is a nifty trick for making FauxBQ in the Crockpot or other fireless method.

    A few years ago I found a recipe for bourbon bacon barbecue sauce. No way I'd buy anything in a jar off the supermarket shelf when I have this.
