If the emails referenced in the Columbus Dispatch story are to be believed, Texas may not be able to move unless Tech moves with them.

So I guess Texas Tech becomes the ultimate red-haired stepchild. I'll have to read that story. That's the only way the Tech invite makes sense.

I guess Tech and Colorado will be travel partners.

We all know it is about money and it surely will make a ton. It also looks great on paper. But how will individual programs handle it? There is no question these are more name schools with built in fan bases. But again, especially with the Arizona schools having to play the old Big 12 schools, what is the drawing power for them? They get to go to Texas and Oklahoma and never see their established rivals. The saving grace of this set up is that the smaller programs like Washington State or Oregon State stay with their rivals and will only venture east every now and then.

If you want to read some high comedy find a Baylor fan board. Those people are insane.

It will be hilarious when they join KU in the MWC or WAC. ;D

Would be interesting to see KU win a national championship in the Mountain West before Mizzou makes its first Final Four appearance.

I'm sure it will happen. It will be worth it when they're referring to KU as a mid-major. ;D

Not when the Mountain West, with Boise State, attains BCS status a year from now. Don't think we can call BCS-conference schools mid-majors.

I'm just fucking with you... I hope the MWC adds Boise State, KU, Baylor, K-State, Iowa State and becomes the worst conference in the BCS. ;D

I don't think so. I think we're eventually headed toward a fundamental realignment with the BCS designation thrown out the window. The Big 12 will be gone, the Big East will be gone or downgraded to just a major conference in basketball, and we'll only have about four superconferences that thoroughly rule the sport. The Mountain West might be the top of the next tier, but they'll always be a notch below.

So long as the ACC (2-10) is around, the Mountain West (2-1) won't be the worst BCS conference. Heck, even the WAC (2-1) can match the ACC's BCS-bowl victories with nine less appearances.
