Chicago State, Houston Baptist, NJIT, Texas-Pan American, and Utah Valley still need a fake home.

HBU is headed to the Southland next year I believe.

They seem to take in about every stray school in just about any sport. Northern Colorado in baseball and CSU Bakersfield in just about anything come to mind.

All sports in 2013 except the new football program, which starts in 2014.

Denver and Seattle are probably going to do anything they can to get the WCC to add them both. If that doesn't work, they're fucked. The Big West isn't adding them, and the Big Sky is big enough, and there's really no options unless the Great West somehow survives.

The conference dominoes have stopped falling now that Dallas Baptist has joined the MVC as a baseball-only member.

Seriously, that's a good addition. DBU has been strong for a few years now.

Yeah, Denver desperately needs to find someplace that's more geographically compatible since staying in the Sun Belt can't possibly be a viable option long-term.

Gonzaga will do whatever is necessary to keep Seattle U out of the WCC, even though it's a former member, and fits the WCC profile perfectly. Gonzaga does not want an in-state rival Catholic school in the state's prime recruitining area to raise its profile.

DU also fits the WCC profile, and would make an excellent travel partner for BYU, which is well off the WCC's beaten path.

I'm not sure if the WCC wants to get any bigger, though. With BYU and UOP coming aboard in 2013-14 it will be at a perfect 10 (also USD, LMU, Pepperdine, Santa Clara, SMC, USF, Portland, Gonzaga) and can still play a complete round-robin in all sports and not have to split into divisions.

They'll own the Valley in baseball.

They'll definitely be strong, but they won't own the Valley.

DBU played everyone in the league this year in a "scheduling agreement" (consummated in a previous failed effort to get DBU in the league before they went to the since-collapsed WAC), save Illinois State (whose previous administration wanted nothing to do with DBU), and they went 14-7. They would've tied Indiana State for the championship, but would've lost on tiebreaker as ISU took the series against them.

What DBU undeniably did do was raise everyone's RPI in the MVC. It's no accident that the MVC got three teams in the NCAA Tournament and was the 5th-rated league in the country with DBU on nearly everyone's schedule. Had Illinois State played them, they had an outside shot at being a fourth team, as their RPI would have been better than the lower 50s they ended with.

DBU's presence caused a lot of MVC schools (save perennial bottom-feeders Bradley) to see the light, and when the Texas teams that attracted DBU to the WAC bailed on that sinking ship, the MVC didn't make the same mistake twice.

Interesting. Didn't know about the scheduling arrangement.

Got a chance to see DBU in the regionals this year. Really like the way they play.

Idaho stated its case for an invitation by getting dumptrucked by Eastern Washington tonight.
