Idaho probably killed his strength of schedule.

Didn't know until this past weekend that Georgia State is headed to the Sun Belt in 2013 and being a full FBS member in 2014. So much for that CIAA football membership.....

Speaking of, anybody see that UT-Martin beat Memphis this weekend? Holy crap, the Tigers have fallen a long way. One of the bottom 10 programs (maybe even bottom 5?) in FBS or am I overestimating how bad they are?

No, they're that bad. They're 5-32 since the beginning of the 2010 season.

Lot of schools going FBS that have NO business going FBS. Getting invited to the GMAC Bowl ain't all that great of a way to spend the holidays.

Rumor is Notre Dame to the ACC in all sports except football and hockey. There's talk of a commitment to play several ACC opponents each year in lieu of actually joining the conference.

    Is that online anywhere yet?

Notre Dame doesn't want to be stuck in the Big East at all, so the ACC needs to be a little more firm and expect ND to join for football, too. The ACC is its best cultural and competitive fit and needs to use that as a bargaining tool.

Asking them to join for football might be a dealbreaker seeing as how Notre Dame values its football independence greatly.

They'll have to come around eventually. The ACC shouldn't fall into the same trap the Big East did. The ACC is the only conference they truly fit.

You may be right, but who knows whether Notre Dame will actually do it. There's only four FBS independents and two of them - Army and Navy - aren't joining a conference because they like the Patriot League too much (fits their academic profile) and BYU is in a conference (West Coast) for all their other sports that geographically fits (even if BYU is bigger than most of them).
