Well, there's your first 16-team super conference.

Why would the Big 12 have a gentleman's agreement not to raid a school from a state where the SEC has a member. The SEC took A@M.

We'll get to 4 super conferences with 16 teams each, but ACC has a good chance of being 4th instead of Big 12. I just don't see how Big 12 survived last round of negotiations, eventually Texas will go to SEC or (more likely) Pac 12. That's how we get there.

Far from a done deal. Both schools are on a short list though.

How Idaho remains available remains a mystery.

Amazing how devalued the Big East name has become so quickly. It's like a classy store forgetting to renew its domain name. One morning you log on and are stunned to find an ad for penis pumps.

That's why I don't see the benefits of the Conference USA members switching. All they are going to do is inherit the Big East overhead and more travel costs. It's not like the Big East is getting 8 basketball tournament bids from here to infinity. And, as mentioned, the BCS is dying off, not that any of those schools would make a difference anyway.

The BCS argument is convenient to sell to the masses. Pay no attention to it.

The real reason is that the TV deals for C-USA/MAC/Sun Belt/etc. are so shitty that it's worth taking a chance on getting in on the Big East's deal that's still out for bid. No matter what the Big East's new deal yields, it has to be better than the pittance C-USA pays.

Look, Florida State and Clemson will join the Big 12 within months and the ACC will find itself splitting at the seams. No way does the Big 12 croak.

I could see that. Higher likelihood the ACC stays intact in some form than the Big XII, IMO.
