Pardon me for saying this, but Catholic 12 would be the best conference name ever.

Except it would be the Catholic 11 + 1 (Butler) if #12 is Creighton, Siena or Detroit, or the Catholic 10 +2 if they take Butler and Richmond, which actually is a much better geographic fit.

Not sure what Butler is. UR is non-denominational. Its former ties with the Southern Baptists have been cut for decades.

Yes. Non-rev sports don't want to have to trek that far west on a regular basis.

It was supposed to be the Catholic 3. Stupid rhythm method.

Same site that had Maryland going to the Big Ten days before anyone else is saying the Big Ten is still working to get UNC and UVA in, too. Georgia Tech and another school to be named later also being discussed. The reporter involved is rock solid. I think he was even one of Mizzou's young favorites back in the day. Not sure he got a young fucking stud label, but he was well thought of here. Not the stereotypical fan site guy, is what I'm trying to say.

This should tap the brakes a bit. A North Carolina judge denied Maryland's motion to dismiss the ACC's lawsuit.

Well, let me caveat. There's lots of talk about how Florida State is just waiting for the chance to be able to jump to the Big 12. They're watching this quite close. So yeah, it'll tap the brakes. But I bet it won't stop anything. And no way Maryland is on the hook for the full $50m.

    Not sure about that.

At this point, if you're the ACC, you can't let them leave unless they pay up.
