Oh yeah, I guess you are... Sorry about that.

And yes, they'd be a great fit there too. Assuming all the schools that say they're joining the Don't Call Us The Big East actually do join, they'll be at 11 teams in 2015 so they need at least one more.

Hell, Duke could win that league in football.

The ACC definitely looks like the next league to fall apart - not the Big 12-2. Those fears may be why the ACC is now, according to ESPN, trying to rush the membership of ND into the ACC.

The Big 12-2 solidified itself with the Grant of Rights deal. And I'm fairly certain it was intended more to anchor Texas to the league more so than anyone else. After all, if Texas leaves but can't collect any TV revenue for 15-25 years, the Longhorn Network becomes completely useless to them.

Cox just added the Longhorn Network to its Kansas systems, for whatever reason. Color me underwhelmed.

Probably because the BBOC will be the conference football game on there until the end of time.

Yeah, I just wonder if C-USA/Big East would leave a spot for them. Or just add them and make a larger league.

Anyway you slice it, that league has zero appeal outside of the schools/students/alumni involved. None of those schools have especially large fan bases or even dominate the geographic regions where they are located.

As for TV contracts, who is going to watch that aside from students/alumni?

Yeah, adding Notre Dame (along with Pitt and Syracuse) sort of firms up the league and gives anyone thinking about bolting a reason to stay put.

To be fair to Duke (1989) and Wake Forest (2006), those two programs have won ACC championships after the Carter administration. NC State (1979) and UNC-CHeat (1977).

    Ahem...Duke SHARED the 1989 title.

That's closer than the Pack and Hells have gotten since before the Miracle on Ice.

Apparently "America 12" could be the name for the Big East leftovers.

I guess "Big Fail 12" was not available.
