If all these schools want to throw the baby out with the bathwater and form super leagues, whatever. Just change the names of the conferences to something new. That little change could make me stomach it a lot easier.

All the past models were for four 16-team super conferences
If Texas and Oklahoma go to the SEC could we see something like this?
The Ohio State University and Michigan join the SEC
Southern Cal and Oregon join the SEC
North Carolina and Virginia join the SEC
Two more, say Penn State and Notre Dame, make 24
Everybody else — you’re on your own

Be a great way to kill interest in a sport that already is seeing declining attendance.

It’s obvious that if it goes to four 16-team conferences, the Big 12 is the one that gets plundered. And someone is getting left out because there are 65 or 66 teams in the P5. Texas Tech? K-State?

What four schools would the Pac 12 want to boost it to 16? I can't see them wanting to expand to Texas. Do they finally take a flyer on Boise or San Diego State? I don't know the answer. ACC seems pretty simple. Just add West Virginia and Cincy.

Is there any reason that all the Power Five schools have to go into one of the remaining four conferences? Or do we just havv four conferences with a total of 56 members and Notre Dame.

I wonder if the next step is that the stronger schools in the four remaining conferences withdraw en masse and create new conferences the next time television deals are up. So example, 14 of the 16 schools in the SEC withdraw and form a new league and don't invite Vanderbilt and Mississippi State. The Mountain West serves as the historical precedent.

Ever since the NCAA lost control of the television contract we have seen the richer schools band closer and closer to become even richer. What school administrations and athletic directors never recognize that when someone is shoved off a gang plank that the line moves forward and someone else will soon be getting shoved.

Great point. I love college football but I haven’t gone to a game as a fan in 11 years. The whole process take to long. And the game itself is hard to watch in person. So many breaks.

I’d rather flip between 37 games on a Saturday then commit 8 hours start to finish to get to the Power 5 games in my backyard.

If they won't stand for it, they don't get in. If Alabama does not get that treatment, UT damn sure won't.
