Interesting thing here. The Athletic acknowledges it was not the first to report that UT will formally declare its intention to leave the Big 12. But it gets the original entity wrong. The WFAA guy had it more than 24 hours before Chip Brown did.

Notre Dame coming crawling into court whimpering it was being strong armed and brutalized by crass and cynical athletic profiteers would be quite a hoot.

No, they’d play an ACC schedule in sports other than football. They already do that.

    Try again.

They play a heavy assortment of B1G and MAC teams in nonconference games in most sports.

No, but it will be some cover when the Aggie fans want to string them up.

I remember when a member of the Corp of Cadets was threatening some SMU cheerleaders with a saber for the capital crime of stepping onto the sacred soil of Kyle Field. Didn't end well.

I would like to see TAMU in the Big 10. Their fan base is even crazier than the Knight worshipping Indiana basketball fan base that as an IU alumnus is so embarrassing.

I think there was even a pre-realignment leftover a couple years ago when I think it was Colorado and Cal played a non-conference game despite both being in the Pac-12. They'd scheduled it before Colorado joined the Pac-12 and just decided to play it anyway.

Wasn’t there a story that a few years back that a recent stadium expansion blocked the view of the field from the dog’s graves so they assigned some dork from the fake army to keep the dogs up to date on the scores?

It's like how North Carolina and Wake Forest scheduled a non-conference home-and-home football series for years in which they weren't paired on the conference schedule. Meanwhile, the ACC ensures that such time-tested rivalries as Wake-Syracuse and Carolina-Pitt are on the slate each year. Realignment has led to rank stupidity.

I understand they built a scoreboard for the dearly departed and they're buried facing it.
