Maybe if they expand to 24 or 32 they can find a team that can win a playoff semifinal game. :)

What does SMU give the ACC? Other than a team for Wake to beat.

If SMU gets in, they will move the big home games (Climpson, etc.) to Jerry World. They still play in a G5 stadium.

And after that, they can go out and pay arrange NIL payments for the best players in Texas, and BOOM! we have the Pony Express all over again.

If SMU exes have such an unlimited supply of funds, they’d have been better off bribing people to watch the Ponies on TV over the last decade.

Wondering if ESPN's business side is leaking info to Thamel, who is already well connected, in order to amp up pressure on the dissenters in the ACC, at least one of whom has to flip.
If ESPN wants it to happen, it probably has to happen.

A foothold in the DFW market, which depending on the ACC Network contract, could be lucrative

SMU doesn't have much traction in the DFW market. On the sports page of the Dallas Morning News, there are tabs - in this order - on the sports page: high schools, Cowboys, Rangers, Mavericks, Stars, Colleges. The Ponies don't even rate an individual link on their hometown paper's website.
