No. Utah and BYU are rivals but aren't tied to each other in any other way I'm aware of. If that was the case, we'd have seen it play out when the Pac-12 took Utah. And I don't think the Pac-12 would have ever taken BYU.

I used to cover Dixie Youth baseball and unaffiliated rodeo as a one-man sports department, but by God I never had to put anything as sad as this single-source daydreaming under my byline.

Leaving aside the credentials of Mr. Hver3, what is ESPN’s incentive to let those schools loose early on what most everyone agrees is a very network-friendly deal? This year with the Big 10 gone, the Mouse had to stretch itself more than ever to have live games to air all day Saturday. Thats why you started seeing Sun Belt games much more often on Saturdays as well as the AAC.

These places can't even pretend to have "reporters" as "insiders" anymore? Just some guy with a random handle on sports kleeda? Next we'll be citing AOL chat room transcripts from 2002.

Honestly, though ... how much of a credibility deficit is there between whatshishandle and ESPN "analyst" Paul Finebaum?

None. I gloss over the clickbait invoking his name too.

Finebaum has been covering the SEC since I was born or before. And he's now paid to be a talking head and embraces that role.

Also paid to promote the SEC and castigate other leagues on the SEC Network.

Just a matter of time before the FBS ends all pretense and slouches into NFL Jr. with funding from the shield.

Yeah, I take it with a grain of salt.

But it's better than some website telling me their "insider" is a guy who got his info from the inside of a box of Corn Flakes.
