Spend one winter there and you will know why. It's not all Yellowstone and Longmire.

The expansion of the PAc-12 is obviously designed das a way to dump some existing less financially attractive Mountain West schools. It will be interesting to see what happens to the Big 12 and ACC when their television contracts come up.

Do the schools with stronger television markets start a new conference and eliminate the schools with poor television ratings?

This Sacramento Sunday night sports show I watched reported something about Sacramento State moving up into the PAC 12.

Trying to get Sacramento State and Eastern Washington to move up does make some sense. And Boise State-Eastern Washington would have a natural rivalry with the blue turf vs red turf

Sacramento State plays basketball in a 1,000-seat high school gym called The Hornets Nest. I mean, c'mon.

With Oregon and Washington now in the Big 10 and Cal and Stanford in the ACC, there is really no reason to not include Hawaii in a revamped Pac-12 because travel isn't really the excuse any longer.

It's still further from Corvallis to Honolulu (2538) than from Corvallis to New York City (2480). It's a long freaking plane ride. Those four teams leaving the Pac-12 didn't move Honolulu closer to anyone on the West Coast or in the Mountain Time Zone or make the plane ride there any cheaper.

The only three teams worth considering if you want to bump up a western-ish FCS school are Montana, North Dakota State and South Dakota State. And even then it is a stretch. NDSU might be the only one who can currently match the following of San Jose State, which seems to be considered the ugly duckling of the MWC.

One potential reason is the need for a new stadium in Hawaii. Has funding been finalized for replacement for Aloha Stadium?
