Also, isn't one of the alleged charms of baseball that it uses subjective measures (balls, strikes) to determine the outcome?

Given the way the new extra inning rules are in (international) baseball maybe they should have been made to start in the middle of their routine?

And that I can agree with. But, since the IOC won't let that happen, what would be a better protocol to split them?

As the 2nd tiebreaker, keep four scores, only make them the top four instead of the bottom, or vice-versa?

And I like your idea Peter. Maybe they have a jump-off like in the Equestrian show jumping.

So the same people who complain about youth sport parents who think every kid needs a trophy think the Olympics should just award dual gold medals rather than employ a tie-breaker.
Why do I think none of you would complain about the tie-breaker had it favored Luiken?

I'm fine with the tiebreaker. I just don't think the judging was completely fair. Then again, I'm basing this off the mistakes I could pick out myself. I never excelled much in gymnastics beyond what I needed for cheerleading , so I'm no expert.

Can you even imagine how amazing it must feel to be standing on the podium with your gold medal and have the anthem played, all for you. I mean to know that you are at the Olympics, and your country's national anthem is being played because of your accomplishment... That must be really cool.

I do not need a hug from you, tomas.

As I have often stated, I do not care who wins more gold medals.

I do not care if the 12 year old from China got the gold and the 14 year olds from the US got the silver.

I do not watch little girls gymnastics.

But I'm willing to bet all of the experts here posting about "we got robbed' haven't watched gymnastics either since the last Olympics and have no idea whether the judging was fair or not.

But if "we" didn't win, something must be wrong.

Maybe I'm pointing out some of my own dorkdum, but I do watch it when I see it in the guide.
