    You would say that. :p

Quoteth my girlfriend, after covering the USWNT last month: "There are very few women on the planet who can make me stop what I'm doing and say 'Damn!' Hope Solo is one of them."

Most beautiful non-U.S. Olympian, sadly, did not make the javelin finals. I give you, from Paraguay and probably NSFW, Leryn Franco.

Allyson's lovely, but Hope Solo's something else. Your girlfriend isn't the only one who feels that way about her, buck.

Angola! will be happy. Nick Symmonds just won his heat of the 800 to make it through to the semis.

Well, as I just told dreunc, she can boot the shit out of the ball and she's got an oh-so-dirty mouth ... so even without the drop-dead looks, I'm just smitten. That's my kind of girl. ;)

Is the U.S.-Australia game live this morning? It's on USA on the east coast, and it's 41-36 near halftime.

Cool. I never know what's going on. I've lost track since Phelps finished his run. I was so pissed about missing the 100 that I tuned out for the past two days.

LeBron diving all over the court to make the steal and keep it in-bounds. Great, great hustle.

U.S. just hit two straight 3-pointers, now up by 18.

In a similar vein, the hammer throw, the shot put, the discus and the javelin; aren't they they equivilant of the butter fly, breast stroke, back stroke and free style?

At some point in time, maybe as late as the 11th century, those 4 events had meaning besides the Olympics. Aside from domestic violence, does anyone need to throw a hammer any more?
