    Could be true.

    However, it's a two-way street.

I think an equal shade of "true colors" is shown via anyone who puts any serious time into figuring out who's who and using it for personal gain.

Not saying that's you. But I know a few who seem to use this board for that and only that. Not sure if that's anyone I'd want to place in a position of trust.

the doormen wouldn't even let you into the staging area if you brought that stupid-looking bird with shoes along with you.

    too easy buck, too easy.

dye will not come back like the antichrist throwing fire and brimstone and shit like that all around ... he will come in like a lamb. instead, i think we have one of our own toying with us, hence, the obvious use of "fucktard."

  9. Good point, Tom. Besides, didn't Dye always use f-tard instead of fucktard?

Clearly you're not a journalist. If you were, getting incorrect change from the candy machine would rate at least a 4, given our wages.

Actually, it is. Could be a test of stupidity too, but it certainly takes more "guts" to post under your own name than not.

No, I don't think so. They're not being gutsy if they're posting under their real names -- they're just naive about what this place is. Or they're in a situation where they feel safe enough to represent their papers in an online forum.

Or, like you said, they're stupid.

If anonymity wasn't valued here, this place wouldn't exist. Sure, it gives some people a chance to be brassy behind a keyboard. But for the most part, it allows us to have serious (and not-so-serious) discussions without having to look over our shoulders ... and without worry of being big-timed.

It has nothing to do with guts. That only validates the Whitlockian types who make that argument, and dismiss any criticism, valid or not, because it comes from "anonymous Internet people."
