And no news break on ESPN for it. Wow, does that feel good.

soriano is kaput. he's already at as much work as he's ever had, and it's early august. i'm not sure what the point of putting him out there every night is...peter moylan has just plain been getting dudes out, and his arm doesn't tire (sidearmer).

it's a shame, because soriano can be nasty. he also has a faux-no-hitter to his credit this year. but there's just nothing left in that tank.

My deductive powers tell me the Yankees had some pitching problems today.

Raul Ibanez, three homers in two days against the Orioles, nine on the year. Is he heating up, or is it the ballyard?

(Since Vidro had a homer today as well, it just might be the ballyard.)

Boston just dropped four on the Angels to take the lead; about time they got off their duffs. If they aren't careful, they're going to make Angola a happy boy...

That's how Ibanez does things. He went on a spurt like that in June, where he hit two doubles, a triple and three home runs and drove in eight runs in four games. He's certainly not have as good a year as he did last season, but he's capable of putting together a few good games in a row.

They are trading runs now. Angels took a 5-4 lead and the Sox answered to make it 6-5, but Vlad just hit a leadoff double. Come on Angels (never thought I would root for those cocksuckers, but I will for the rest of the night).

Timlin in for Boston. TIMLIN? Oh crap!

The M's could have used more Timlin, along with a shot or two of Taveras, against the Sawx last weekend.

Timlin and Tavares, creating little trouser tents for Yankee fans everywhere.

Indeed. Especially because Tavares has been used a lot lately. God, I love it when Tito continues to go to the same pitchers every night and refuses to use Gagne, Okajima and Pap-Smear. Good stuff.

Okajima on the hill now...that's a little better. Would somebody please break out a bat?

I don't know why it took me -- or anyone, really -- so long to pick that kid up in my fantasy league. But since Sunday, he's paid off nicely: 7-for-13, 2B, HR, RBI. I'll take it.
