Similar sentiments can be had about Vernon Wells, who is signed to a seven-year, $126 million contract and hitting .261 with 14 homers.

Well, at least I was right. Too bad Billy Wagner faltered. Hopefully that'll be the final time this year. But, we'll see.

The Royals score games thatb Meche pitches. They just wait until he leaves. I.E. tonight. No runs, no hits when Meche is in game, one run, three hits after he leaves.

I wonder if the Twins can come back from a nine-run hole in the eighth.

The Brewers' bullpen not blowing it in Houston is a major step forward.

I'm sure they will revert to dog ass form tomorrow.

No matter how lovely that sentiment is, I'll have to decline.

Besides, I root for the Twins nearly every night. Tpnight, however, wasn't the night to do so openly.

And no one seems to be talking about the Pirates-Giants thriller.

What gets me about this Red Sox-Yankees chase is that people who doubt the Yankees seem to be falling on the argument that they've feasted on weaker teams during this stretch, while the Sox played legit teams. Nevermind that the Sox began the second half of the season with a home split against the White Sox and losing two of three at home to the Royals.

The assumption was that now because the Sox get teams like the Orioles while the Yankees now get teams like the Tribe, the Sox would extend the lead and the Yankees would flop for good. Right now, I would hope no one falls for that assumption.
