Fucking Red Sox. The more I love this game, the more frustrating is gets sometimes. I know they still have the best record in MLB still, but Jesus H. Christ, if you have a 5-1 lead in the 8th with that bullpen, you better fucking get the job done.

    My open letter:
Dear Eric Gagne, (aka The New Guy)

Can you please get THREE FUCKING OUTS WITH A FOUR RUN LEAD?

    Signed,
    Red Sox Nation

I'm beginning to believe that the Yankees will indeed win the AL East agin (Oh, God, it hurt to type that).
Since 2004, the Red Sox have been nothing but a bunch of chioking dogs.
I guess that's what happens when you sell your soul to end a "curse."

Or when you get rid of the heart and soul of the team that won the title.

And spend $106 million on J.D. Drew and Julio Lugo.

I thought Varitek and Schilling were the heart and soul of that team

    Incredibly important pieces, yes.
After spending $40 million on Edgar Renteria and, what, $30 million or so on Coco Crisp.

Last I looked, Pedro hasn't pitched in a year and Damon is hitting. 257 and is incapable of playing the outfield.

Doesn't mean they couldn't have been the heart of that 2004 Red Sox team.

Would they have kept them from choking last year? Would they be able to prevent this year's inevitable choke?

You know, those dog ass Orioles have owned the Yankees this year too. No, they aren't a good team, but they're much more competitive of late since switching managers, and are playing up to the expectations set at the start of the year. They're a better team than they showed under the mismanagement of Sam Perlozzo for two-and-a-half months. The Yankees have found that out this year, and the Sox may find it out this weekend.

BTW, it's Garrett "I make Mike Mussina look like another big dumb jock" Olson pitching for the O's on Saturday against Beckett. Olson pretty much owned the International League this season.
