because he's a fucking christian zeke ... that's why he chooses when to embrace and discount logic at will.

Well, I do think that that is the kind of thinking that results from having an endpoint to get to from the beginning.

I mean, I can understand it. But that's why they call it faith.

If Aquinas couldn't prove there was a god, neither can we. (And yes, I was raised very religious).

i was forced into attending a pentecostal church from the time i was 4 until i was 15. i then began driving soon after and quite often ran into these fucks who placed themselves above "nonchristians."

the preachiest of them are the biggest hypocrites and the most ignorant.

  4. And there we get to the heart of the issue with Tom Petty. It's not about the discussion, it's about his hatred for Christians, based upon his own experiences. That's a shame.
I've had bad experiences with plenty of groups, but I didn't decide to paint everyone who was in any such group with the same brush because of it.
I'm still waiting for an honest answer to my question of how it all began...other than the Stephen Hawking thing, which I need to look up. I've never heard of that.

you're so sidestepping, and it's embarrassing.

and, btw, i don't hate you chief. i don't hate christians. i do feel pity for you, though.

    RE: How it all began?

You have obviously glossed over my unicorn theory.

  7. I was not raised a Christian. I came to my faith on my own. So pity me if you want, but I pity you.

when christ comes back (to the board), tell him all about your pity okie.

do you pity me because i'm going to hell? if so, just let me know and i'll smoke you a side of ribs while i'm there. the only question is, do you want sweet or spicy bbq sauce?

  9. I don't decide who goes to Hell. I thank God for that.
I pity you because you obviously have some anger in your past. It has made you dispise a certain group of people. It has also closed your mind to certain possibilities.
I'll tell you, I am a very open-minded person (despite the stereotypes). That's why I enjoy (civil) discussions about religion. It makes for a much more interesting world.

    Again, an honest question.

Hasn't being a Christian closed your mind to an awful lot of possibiliities as well?

Isn't that equally worthy of pity?

what's up with this anger shit okie? you judging me?

  12. No. Just because I believe in one thing doesn't mean I can't consider another. Again, you're judging me based on others. I'm not Jerry Falwell or Pat Robertson. I despise both just as much as anyone else on this board -- maybe more, because of the reaction people have to me based on them.
