    Tom,

You seem to be searching. Your negativity doesn't fool me.

I am dispatching teams of Baptists, Mormons, Seventh-Day Adventists, Muslims, and others to call on you.

    Pick whichever touches your heart.

It would be nice if you had an assortment of tea and cakes for them, too.

    Thanks.

I just love how being a Christian automatically makes you a knuckle-dragger.

  8. Pastor, you're forgetting a few things. First, the Old Testament was already The Torah before Jesus was here. It was written down then, so it has to be older than 2,000 years.
Also, you're correct that most of the New Testament wasn't written down until after his death (and resurrection), but most scholars agree we're talking somewhere between 30 and 100 years, not 100s of years.
Also, Paul claims to have met Jesus after his resurrection and he wrote about half of the New Testament. Revelation may be written by John the Apostle, who obviously knew Jesus quite well.
I can't remember the rest off the top of my head, but I'll figure out which others were written by those who knew Jesus and get back to you.
As for the beginning and end thing, I've already stated that I can understand how a God who created such concepts is not bound by them. Not everyone can accept that, obviously.

My small contribution to this discussion.

Last Friday we had a luncheon at work for winning some contest, except that everyone -- including our Catholic manager -- forgot Friday was a fast day.

I mentioned that to this idiot at the front desk, who is 19. She says, "Oh, I don't believe in God anymore so I don't care."

Like she's saying that she doesn't like pepsi anymore. Kids.
