Hot water was scarce, and the two young men often showered at the Columbia gym.

    Maybe Obama IS gay!

Life for Columbia students could be hard, however. Mr. Boerner recalls Mr. Obama wrapping himself in a green sleeping bag (seen in this photo Mr. Boerner took) to keep warm when they studied at home.

I suppose Obama could have been pulling a Will Hunting.

I have no idea whether he went there or not, but that's not the point. 1) We have a president who's Columbia records are sealed and nobody remembers him there. In direct contradiction to some members statement that his college records HAVE been vetted by the press. 2) We are NOW talking about a candidate who claims he was offered a scholarship from West Point. He's not claiming he went to West Point, he is claiming he had a scholarship offer. He was in ROTC and spoke to people at West point, whether it was "Hey, we can offer you this at West Point if you apply" or "We are hereby offering a full scholarship" does it really matter? If Trump were making the claim I could see the point, but it there anyone seriously questioning his credentials to get into West Point? If he misremembers the conversation, who cares?

If we aren't going to vet Obama's Columbia records, is it really relevant whether a scholarship was offered to Carson or not?

Obama was a juggernaut that year. No one was stopping him. What kind of president he's been is irrelevant.

Does an American citizen have the right to keep his grade transcript private? Yes or No

If a job applicant states that he attended or graduated from a university is there a method available to check that claim? Yes or No?

Can you direct me to Ben Carson's unsealed Yale and Michigan academic transcripts?

    Thanks much. xoxoxoxo

Blam. End of relevant discussion. Why don't we just ask Oily Taintz what she thinks.

Of course, Obama's Columbia records are not sealed.

You're blinded by your narrative. As usual.

Obama won precisely because the campaign was a battle of personal narratives, and (despite, or maybe because of, the time compression, shifted locations, and composite characters, along with some other exaggerations) people liked his more. They liked him more. They saw him as uplifting. New. Youthful. Everything Hillary was not in 2008, and is less of in 2015/16.

And, why wouldn't they like him more? When you get to write your own narrative, and the main stream media points to it as the reason why they don't have to do their own research, it's pretty easy to present yourself in a positive way.

Rachel Maddow said this about Ben Carson on MTP on Sunday:

“Carson is basically a professional autobiographer. And that's what he does. He sells and sells and sells and sells his autobiography. The most dramatic things in his autobiography, all of which are favorable to him, all of which have helped sell himself as this amazing person who ought to be president, which cannot be corroborated, including the factual statement that you can get a full scholarship to West Point. It doesn't even work that way.”

LOL. Our sitting president got his first book contract before he graduated law school, and had published two autobiographies by the age of 45.

But, let's mock Carson, and extoll the virtues of Obama.

OK. You give me your elevator pitch for Obama, circa 2007.
