The old greats like Bob Lilly, Art Donovan and Alan Page were before my time. Reggie White was the greatest defensive lineman I saw growing up and Cortez Kennedy was the best big man. As an adult I thought Warren Sapp was amazing and unstoppable at times. Donald is in that group wherever you want to put him. A special player that impacted the game like a handful of others.
Fun Pro Bowl stat: Tom Brady is credited with 15 Pro Bowl selections — the most ever — but only played in the game twice (in 2002 and 2005).
It's crazy that he won Defensive Player of the Year on a team that won 3 or 4 games. He was that good and surrounded by that much shit. One of the most explosive off-the-ball players I've seen to this date. His predecessor at Miami, Jerome Brown, would probably also be on this list if he didn't die in a car accident at 27.
Donald is definitely among the greatest ever. Joe Greene certainly has a case. Dominant player. The Steel Curtain was literally built around him. Strong performances in big games. Key player on four Super Bowl championship teams.
