I don't know what made me think of the two titles I started this thread with, but I had forgotten For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge. Another Van Halen favorite: OU812. Webspeak before there was a web

Here's a couple from the dark ages....

"You Broke My Heart, So I Busted Your Jaw" by Spooky Tooth (contained a honkin version of "I Am the Walrus"

and from Tyrannosaurus Rex (before it was shortened to T. Rex in their glam period) "My People Were Fair and Had Sky In Their Hair...But Now They're Content To Wear Stars On Their Brows"

oh, and one more by the late great Dick Heckstall-Smith "Dust in the Air Suspended, Marks the Place Where the Story Ended" (taken from T.S. Eliot's "Four Quartets" I think).....

Why didn't they do it? The record company chicken out?

Another great album title that didn't make the cut -- Bryan Adams wanted his sophomore effort to be called "Bryan Adams Never Heard Of You Either." It eventually went out as "You Want It, You Got It."

Damn, that would have gone on the short list of greatest things to ever happen.

    A few nominations:

    "Antichrist Superstar," Marilyn Manson
    "Automatic for the People," REM
"Vulgar Display of Power," Pantera <-- perhaps the most apt title/cover art combo ever
    "Hairway to Steven," Butthole Surfers
