HA!!! I was just thinking of those Kay Bee cards. I remember they had Tony Gwynn as a young superstar in 1987, by which point he'd already won, like, six batting titles.

I like Bob Walk as an analyst, but he looked like a hobo in the mid 80s:

I know this doesn't fit the game, but Adam Jones' Yahoo picture always makes me laugh.

    i don't think that fits.

  7. 1989 Upper Deck Junior Griffey RC will always be my favorite.

I love the 1951 Bowman Mickey Mantle RC. As far as early 1990s stuff goes, I like the 1991 Stadium Club set.

No wonder the Phillies have always sucked. They had blind pitchers!

I didn't know what to make of Manny Sanguillen in my early card collecting days. His happiness freaked me out.

He looks like Shane McGowan, ex of the Pogues, maybe with more teeth.

I always loved the design of the cards from 1981. The Topps cards with the team's name on the hat, the Fleers with it in script on the baseball...one of the coolest looking years, across the board, ever.
Every Sunday when I was a kid, my mom would set up a table at a local flea market and hawk Tupperware. That place attracted seedy card dealers like flies to shit. Every now and then, one of them would have either a box of O-Pee-Chees or "miswrapped" packs (the old Topps wax packs, with all the good cards removed and then resealed with an iron) on the table. You'd buy the pack and find a Mark McGwire rookie or something, then realize it was an O-Pee-Chee. It was like giving a kid a dog turd covered in a tootsie roll wrapper.
    Fucking bastards.
